NSW Heat Pump Hot Water Rebate
Thanks to the NSW Energy Saving Scheme, you can reduce your residential electricity bill by hundreds of dollars, simply by upgrading to an energy efficient hot water system.
Heat pump water heaters have become an essential part of greening the economy and reduce carbon emissions of residential buildings — which accounts for more than 10% of the total greenhouse gas emissions in Australia.
Here in New South Wales, it is reflected in the state government run ESS (Energy Savings Scheme) program and its HEER (Home Energy Efficiency Retrofits) method to calculate the future energy savings (and amount of earth warming gases not emitted into earth atmosphere) if a household or business participated in an energy-efficiency upgrade activity.
We make everything easy and simple for you.

Savings
How much can you save with an energy efficient hot water system?
How does the Hot Water Upgrade Under ESS program work?
The NSW Government is helping Assies upgrade their hot water system for a more energy efficient model. Switching to a more energy efficient hot water system will help reduce the amount of energy and water used. This means you can expect to see long-term cost savings on your bills.
Using a more energy efficient hot water system will also help lower the environmental impact.
This incentive is part of the Energy Savings Scheme.
Note: Customers will need to make a minimum payment towards the cost of their hot water system, as well as the installation services. The final cost will vary, as it depends on the model you choose, the type of system you currently have, and the services provided.

HEAT PUMPS
What is a Heat Pump and how does it work?
Heat Pumps are an environmentally friendly hot water system which saves you money.
Heat Pumps function in a manner similar to a reverse refrigerator, extracting heat from the air and transferring it through a heat exchange system to warm your water.
By harnessing and concentrating existing heat instead of generating more, Heat Pumps can notably diminish your household’s greenhouse gas emissions and energy usage, leading to cost savings.
In contrast to solar energy systems, Heat Pumps don’t depend on sunlight for operation. While they do require electricity, they are approximately four times more efficient than traditional electric water heaters.
Air-sourced heat pump hot water systems offered under the ESS program are designed to work efficiently under many operating and climate conditions. Today, heat pumps are up to 2 times more efficient than oil/gas heating systems.
Heat pump water heating units offer several advantages over their traditional counterparts, including:
- ENERGY EFFICIENT
- COST SAVINGS
- ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY
- REDUCED GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS
- VERSATILITY IN DIFFERENT CLIMATES
- QUALITY & RELIABLE PRODUCTS
- PRODUCT REPLACEMENT WARRANTY
- REDUCTION IN MAINTENANCE COSTS
- SMART TECHNOLOGY COMPATIBILITY in some models.
